Hong Kong SAR (22 September 2008) – Black & Veatch, a leading global
engineering, consulting and construction company, has announced that Alan Man,
Vice President and Director of Client Services for North Asia Pacific, has been
appointed to lead Black & Veatch’s water business in Hong Kong SAR.
Man has 28 years of experience in a wide range of waterworks installations,
including pipelines, rehabilitation of water mains, water transfer tunnels,
service reservoirs, pumping stations and water treatment works. He was Black
& Veatch’s Project Director of the Tai Po Waterworks and Aqueducts Project,
which was the 2006 Global Grand Prize winner for the Design Category at the
International Water Association’s Project Innovation Awards.
Prior to joining Black & Veatch in 1993, Man worked extensively in Hong
Kong and Australia water industries. He worked for the Water Supplies
Department in Hong Kong SAR; this included a two-year role with the Power &
Water Authority of the Northern Territory, Australia. Man is a Fellow of the
Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, and received his BSc in Civil Engineering
and his MSc in Urban Planning from the University of Hong Kong.
