To support coastal management projects we undertake metocean studies, flood risk assessments, erosion and environmental impact studies, preliminary and detailed design of coastal structures, and preparation of beach management plans.
Felixstowe Coastal Defence Project

Existing coastal defences at Felixstowe were nearing the end of their useful life, with many of the groynes no longer effective at retaining the sand on the beach. This led to lowering of the beach and undermining of the seawall. Black & Veatch provided the detailed design and site supervision work for the improved coastal defences.
Energía Costa Azul
Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico
In building this new recieving, storing and regasification LNG terminal in Baja California, location was one of the most signification challenges. The project was located on a rock hillside and in a difficult marine wave environment. Black & Veatch was selected to lead a global alliance to solve those problems and build an efficient LNG plant in Ensenada, Mexico.
Escondida Water Supply Project
The amount that can be extracted of one of the world’s most valuable natural resources – copper – is directly dependent upon the availability of fresh water. But in one of the driest places on Earth, you have your work cut out for you. Black & Veatch was chosen as the engineer of record for the marine works and desalination components for the project.
Jordan Cove LNG Liquefaction Export Facility
Coos Bay, Oregon, U.S.A.
The Jordan Cove LNG Liquefaction Export Facility will help meet rising global demand for clean-burning natural gas. The facility will use Black & Veatch’s patented PRICO LNG technology to produce up to 6 million tons of LNG per year for export. Black & Veatch has completed the front-end engineering and design work and pre-construction planning for the facility.
IOCL Ennore Terminal
Tamil Nadu, India
IOCL’s Ennore terminal will be the first-of-its-kind on India’s east coast. With a send-out capacity of five million tonnes the regasification terminal paves the way for supply of LNG to aid further industrial growth in the region. Black & Veatch will lead the EPC and commissioning work on a turnkey basis, and the plant is scheduled to be completed by 2018.
