UK energy market - under the weather again?

Great Britain’s summer weather, not famed for outdoor barbeques, volleyball and beach parties, appears to be heating up.

The 2018 summer was the joint hottest ever for the UK as a whole, and the warmest on record for England, says the UK Met Office. A prolonged heatwave throughout June and July saw Brits shunning their holidays abroad to stay at home and bask in the sunshine at the UK's beaches and parks.

Moreover, the Met Office has said signs point to a period of warm, sunny weather during the autumn months; leading to calls to ‘not pack away the barbeque, just yet.’ Despite the feel-good factor generated by the weather, clouds are appearing on the horizon, as the low levels of wind power, which have accompanied the sunshine, have thrown our green energy revolution into reverse.
