- Combined heat and power (CHP) – Black & Veatch has developed a process for evaluating CHP applications to optimize benefits to the owner, including optimal ROI. Our services include feasibility studies, site selection and EPC. We’ve worked with combustion turbines, reciprocating engines, fuel cells and microturbines. Our greatest value to clients is our ability to provide a clear path from conceptual design to commissioning and operating CHP, which saves time and money.
- Microgrids – We invested in a microgrid at our World Headquarters as a demonstration project and living laboratory. Our microgrid encompasses solar PV, geothermal, battery energy storage and gas-fired microturbines, and it is monitored by our proprietary data analytics program ASSET360.™ Our extensive power generation experience, combined with our thorough knowledge of energy storage and the transmission/distribution grid, uniquely qualifies us to provide comprehensive microgrid solutions, including off-grid, microgrids, island systems, non-transmission alternatives, and smart cities and communities.
