The USD $1 billion build-own-operate (BOO) project, located in the south of Oman, was developed by Sembcorp in partnership with Oman Investment Corporation.

Black & Veatch was engaged by Sembcorp to provide services as Owner’s Engineer.

The new Salalah IWPP covers the installation and operation of a gas-fired combine cycle power plant with a net capacity of 445 megawatts and a 15 million imperial gallons per day seawater reverse osmosis desalination treatment facility.

The plant has been fully operational since 2012.
