Organics Management Senior Specialist
Joerg is a Senior Process Specialist in Black & Veatch's Water Technology Group and NextGen Ag division. He has over 25 years’ experience in the design and implementation of advanced organic waste processing facilities, optimizing resource recovery and generation of renewable energy. Major projects include the design and construction of some of North America’s largest organic waste processing facilities. As a Process Engineering and Design Team Leader Joerg was involved in the design and construction of the first award-winning HSAD and IVC facilities in California: 90,000 tons/yr processing facility for the organic faction of MSW in San Jose for power generation and production of raw compost; 11,200 tons/yr of SSO and green waste processing plant in South San Francisco for onsite biomethane production and refuse truck fueling, and production of raw compost. These facilities both utilized a Design-Build project delivery model and employed technologies from Europe requiring adaptation to the North American market.
