Lead and Copper Rule Revisions – More than a Drinking Water Issue

A webinar highlighting key elements of the EPA’s finalized Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR). The revisions will impact water treatment systems in many ways. One is evaluations of corrosion control treatments (CCTs) that could result in the addition of orthophosphate as a corrosion inhibitor. Another is the potential increase in phosphorous loading to wastewater treatment facilities. While exploring such impacts, the webinar will include insights from the City of Wyoming, Michigan. The city, which operates drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities, is proactively evaluating alternative CCTs and the effectiveness of phosphorous removal treatments. Join us for a look at proactive bench-scale CCT, pipe-loop testing, a phosphorous removal study and modeling work conducted for the city along with cost-benefit conclusions drawn from work conducted by other utilities.
