To comply with the latest seismic safety standards and restore the supply reliability of its regional water infrastructure system, SFPUC developed the Calaveras Dam Replacement Project. The project included a new 220 feet-high zoned earth and rock fill embankment, new concrete spillway and new intake tower. Representing SFPUC, Black & Veatch led the construction management of the project, providing contract, quality and environmental oversight.
