Recognition highlights shared commitment to safety, reliability and community impact

Duke Energy has recognized Black & Veatch with its 2026 Corporate Responsibility Supplier of the Year Award, honoring the company’s commitment to safety, operational excellence and community stewardship across a broad portfolio of energy infrastructure projects.

The award reflects a long-standing collaboration between Duke Energy and Black & Veatch that has delivered critical power infrastructure projects while maintaining a focus on safe and responsible execution. Black & Veatch has supported projects including battery energy storage systems, substations, distribution construction, infrastructure advisory planning, solar facilities, telecommunications infrastructure and storm recovery efforts.

The award also recognizes the broader commitment of Black & Veatch to corporate responsibility. Through Overland Contracting Inc. (OCI) construction capabilities and Bird Electric, the company has invested in local workforce development and supplier engagement, including sourcing a significant portion of craft labor from communities across the Carolinas and partnering with small, local and diverse suppliers. These efforts help create economic opportunities while supporting project delivery close to the communities where the work takes place.

Duke Energy presented the award to Black & Veatch at its Supplier Exchange Forum on July 22 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
