As unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) – commonly known as drones – become more vital for commercial use, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is weighing whether to free up more national airspace for them by relaxing restraints on their operation.  Such airspace rules changes could allow beyond-line-of-sight use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and Black & Veatch is part of the team helping test the safety of that.

A joint venture with a history of producing on-time and on-budget for important engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects has been picked to develop an ethylene terminal facility in the United States. Black & Veatch and JV partner PCL Industrial Construction Co. – together known as BPC – were picked by Enterprise Products Partners L.P. and Navigator Holdings Ltd. to provide full EPC services for their new ethylene export facility on the Texas Gulf Coast.

Full commercial operations have officially begun aboard Golar LNG’s Hilli Episeyo, the pioneering floating liquified natural gas (FLNG) vessel featuring Black & Veatch’s patented PRICO© technology solution. The Water Supplies Department (WSD) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has appointed Black & Veatch as one of the independent inspectors of Hong Kong's reservoirs. Hong Kong's 7.3 million residents rely on the WSD for safe, reliable drinking water.
