Transmission project will deliver reliable power to more than 500,000 PG&E customers

Black & Veatch has completed a $40 million transmission project that will deliver power from the new Colusa Generating Station to approximately 500,000 of Pacific Gas & Electric Company’s (PG&E) customers.

“Delivering a project of this magnitude comes with huge challenges that can only be met with great teamwork and a ‘can do’ attitude by all involved,” said Greg Starnes, Manager, Electric Transmission Projects for PG&E. “My congratulations to the entire team for their achievements in getting this project operational on time and under budget.”

Future water supplies seriously challenged, say industry experts

For the first time in nearly 60 years, Australia’s capacity to secure high-quality water supplies for cities, towns and remote communities is being seriously challenged, a Black & Veatch media forum in Brisbane was told this week.

Black & Veatch designs energy-saving wastewater treatment enhancements for Missouri project

Construction is now under way on upgrades to the Columbia (Mo.) Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant that serves more than 100,000 area residents. The improvements will enable the city of Columbia to handle increasing wastewater treatment demand more efficiently, while improving the quality of treated water discharged into nearby wetlands. Survey of U.S. electric utilities reflects impact of weak economy, regulatory uncertainty
