This report summarizes the results of Black & Veatch’s 2019 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from its global operations. The company has monitored its North American corporate carbon footprint since 2010, and its global corporate carbon footprint since 2011. In 2019, Black & Veatch cemented its commitment to carbon reduction by signing the United Nations’ Caring for Climate pledge.
Black & Veatch has set an emissions reduction target based on lessons learned during previous GHG inventory updates and a benchmarking study that compares Black & Veatch’s GHG emissions and targets to its peers. By 2023, Black & Veatch will reduce overall emissions by 20 percent and fleet and building emissions by 40 percent (compared to 2019); and achieve net zero overall emissions by 2025.
