18th Annual Veterans Day Celebration: Honoring Our Nation’s Heroes
Join us on Wednesday, November 6, for a powerful celebration recognizing the service and sacrifice of U.S. military veterans and active-duty service members. This annual event brings together the Kansas City Metro community in a shared moment of gratitude and reflection.
Now in its 18th year, the celebration has grown into one of the largest Veterans Day events in the region. It is made possible through the collaboration of several local organizations, including Black & Veatch, T-Mobile, and other dedicated partners who are committed to honoring those who have served.
Military Employee Resource Groups from participating companies play a key role in raising awareness of the diverse experiences and contributions of American service members. Their efforts help ensure this event remains a meaningful tribute to our heroes.
We invite you to stand with us in honoring the brave individuals who have defended our freedoms. The entire community is encouraged to join us, participate in the day’s festivities, and personally thank the service members in attendance.
Event Highlights
This family-friendly event features a wide range of engaging and educational displays and activities for all ages.
Past highlights include:
Chinook, Blackhawk, and Apache helicopters
Tactical military vehicle displays
Local first responders including the Overland Park Fire Department, Bomb Squad, and SWAT teams from Overland Park and Lenexa
Historical military vehicles presented by members of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association
Hands-on youth activities, including STARBASE science demonstrations sponsored by AMC Theatres
Military recruiters on site to answer questions and offer small mementos
Mascots from multiple Kansas City sports teams
JROTC and Army Band performances
