  • Chemical

    You will work with conceptual studies and detailed design. Work products include process simulation, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment data sheets, and instrumentation and controls. Fields include water, wastewater, gas processing, liquefied natural gas, sulfur recovery, gasification and other chemical processes.

  • Civil/Structural/Environmental/Geotechnical

    You will have opportunities in the areas of energy, water and telecommunications. You may participate in high-quality studies and designs for water pipeline rehabilitation, hydraulic structures, storm water management, water resources planning and wastewater treatment facilities. You may also work on electrical substations, power distribution, nuclear plants, and telecommunication towers/facilities. Tasks may include preparation of calculations, research and development of recommendations; production of studies and analyses; and preparation of drawings and specifications for preliminary and detailed designs. Other opportunities include structural analysis, surveying, hydraulic modeling, storm water management and permitting analysis.

  • Construction

    You will be involved in a wide variety of work that includes field assignments in construction management, estimating, project controls, quality control and material receiving. You may also gain experience in field engineering contract management and commissioning. As a Project Controls associate, you will work in areas such as scheduling, quantity take-offs, cash flow analysis, cost forecasting, productivity analysis and change management.

  • Engineering Technology

    With your degree in Engineering Technology or Drafting/Design, you will have the opportunity to work in the areas of piping design, plant equipment layout, stress analysis and control systems design. You may also be involved with HVAC, plumbing, pressure vessel design, structural design and process schematic design. Black & Veatch leverages the latest computer-aided design technologies from major vendors.

  • Electrical

    You will be involved in the design of power systems at all voltage levels, as well as the design of instrumentation and control systems. You may also gain experience in auxiliary power system design, site assessments, system studies, coordination studies and load flow analysis. You’ll also work in cybersecurity, construction management and factory and site witness testing. Exciting career opportunities are available on projects such as power plants, water and wastewater treatment plants, petrochemical plants, mining, oil and gas and substation automation. Black & Veatch is also involved with mission critical facilities, locks and dams, transmission and distribution systems, telecommunication towers and facilities, and sustainable technologies.

  • Mechanical

    You will prepare calculations, conduct research, make recommendations, review detailed drawings and prepare drawings for drafting. You’ll work with remote monitoring and diagnostics, plant performance auditing/testing and performance software tools. You could be assigned to plant optimization and equipment sizing/specifications, while working with hydroelectric, electromechanical, pumps, HVAC and plumbing. Other work could include process piping design, piping stress, rotating equipment, instrumentation and controls, fluid dynamics or fire protection.

  • Corporate Services

    These career opportunities could include accounting, IT, HR, marketing, administrative and legal. We need professionals in all parts of the globe that can help support our business lines. As a professional in our corporate services group, you’ll work with the latest in office technology and mobility.
