Black & Veatch has received the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) “N”, “NA”, “NPT” and “NS” Certificates of Authorization, including shop extensions, for Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III, Division 1 and Division 5, as well as the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (National Board) “NR” Certificate of Authorization for corresponding scopes. These certifications mark a significant milestone that strengthens the company’s ability to support existing nuclear industry infrastructure and the next generation of nuclear projects.

The achievement required an in-depth, independent survey of Black & Veatch’s nuclear program and reflects Black & Veatch’s sustained investment in quality, governance, technical and construction excellence. Collectively, the certifications enable Black & Veatch to design, fabricate, assemble, install and repair piping systems and support in accordance with the most stringent of nuclear industry standards.

“This is more than a certification milestone — it’s a strategic enabler for our future nuclear work,” said Kristen Braun, vice president, nuclear, Black & Veatch. “Earning these certifications demonstrate the depth of our nuclear expertise and positions us to support clients with greater speed, confidence and flexibility as new nuclear projects move from concept to execution.”

With the certifications in place, Black & Veatch is uniquely positioned to support a broad range of nuclear applications, including existing nuclear infrastructure and new large‑scale dispatchable generation, small modular reactors, advanced reactors and other emerging nuclear technologies. The certifications also enhance the company’s ability to integrate nuclear services across engineering, procurement and construction management while maintaining the highest levels of safety and compliance.

The accomplishment underscores Black & Veatch’s long‑standing role in critical infrastructure and its continued focus on advancing reliable, secure and sustainable energy solutions worldwide. The ASME and National Board certifications build on Black & Veatch’s 70 years of nuclear experience, expanding the company’s ability to support clients with code-compliant services across the full nuclear project lifecycle.
