ZAPATA-Black & Veatch JV awarded USACE Kansas City District Small Business Contract for A-E Services at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Kansas City District awarded the ZAPATA-Black & Veatch Joint Venture (JV) an Indefinite Delivery Contract [W912DQ26DA012] for the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP). This is a $29 million single-award task order contract (SATOC) to provide architectural and engineering (A-E) services to support the modernization of the industrial complex at LCAAP in Independence, Missouri.
ZAPATA and Black & Veatch will provide A-E services in support of planning, design, and construction projects within the USACE Kansas City District’s LCAAP Program. The two companies have a strong track record of delivering A-E designs and services together for explosives/propellants, chemical manufacturing, and ammunition production facilities in support of the Army’s Ammunition Program nationwide.
ZAPATA Executive Vice President Marty Ray stated, “The JV members are currently providing construction phase services for the 6.8mm cartridge manufacturing facility, which the two firms designed for Olin Winchester at LCAAP. Our JV team excels at these complex industrial projects, and this new contract is a great opportunity to continue supporting our military’s needs in the modernization of the Ammunition Manufacturing Complex.”
“This award reflects the strong, ongoing collaboration with USACE and our shared commitment to delivering complex, high-consequence programs for the nation,” said Tom Rose, Federal Agencies Segment Leader, Black & Veatch. “Modernizing facilities like Lake City is critical to strengthening a resilient and responsive defense industrial base, and we are proud to support that mission.”
