ASEAN’s energy sector is entering a period of significant opportunity. Realizing and following through on the region’s potential, however, faces several persistent constraints, and achieving the region’s energy ambitions will require greater coordination across industries, governments and markets.

Black & Veatch in partnership with Enlit Asia hosted an Executive Briefing with more than 30 senior government and industry leaders at a private discussion in Jakarta in September 2026. Several key themes emerged through the dialogue including the following recommendations:

• Sequence infrastructure investments to maximize growth, affordability and reliability.

• Turn regional integration into a practical resilience strategy.

• Close the gap between ambition and execution capacity.
